Working Women Community Centre

In My neighborhood there is an organization that works to help women that have immigrated to Canada. Marcie Ponte, who has been working at the Working Women Community Centre as the executive director for 13 years and has been involved in it since the beginning of the project, answered some of the questions i had about the centre. I asked what kind of an organization it was and she said that Working Women Community Centre is a charitable non-profit agency that has been helping immigrant women and their families since 1976. I also asked what kind of services it provided and her answer was that it provides services such as:
*Tutoring /Mentoring programs for children of Portuguese and Spanish descent who are at risk of failing or dropping out of school
* Community engagement and leadership development programs
 * Employment preparation programs for newcomers and for people who are on Ontario Works
